Greenturf is proud to offer green solutions to todays water scarcity and conservation issues. For Builders, Homeowners and
Business owners that are concerned with their Water Footprint, we are now actively involved in installing Rain Water Harvesting Systems.
Collected and stored rain water is used to irrigate your landscape. There is no need to use municipal water for irrigation needs with a Rain Water Harvesting System!
The concept is simple, and has been used throughout the world for decades. New legislation and water restricitions and the price of water will
push this rainwater technology to becoming commonplace.
The six basic components of a Rain Water Harvesting system include:
* Catchment: roof surface to collect the rain
* Conveyance: channels or pipes from roof or catchment area to storage
* Roof washing: ‘first flush’ diverter system to filter and remove contaminants
* Storage: cisterns or tanks where collected rainwater is securely stored
* Purification: includes filtration, ozone or UV light to purify the collected rainwater for potable use
* Distribution: system that delivers the rainwater to the irrigation system, usually including a small pump and pressure tank
There are several manufacturers of Rain Water Collection Systems and components that are becomming more visible every season.
Greenturf Irrigation Systems has already been working with Landscape Architects in the design and implementation of Rain Water Systems.
We expect to see a exponential increase in this area of landscape irrigation in the future and plan to become a key player in the water conservation and rain water collection and water management movement.
